Women's Lacrosse Falls at Etown

MANHEIM, Pa.- A late rally was not enough as Eastern University Women's Lacrosse fell at Elizabethtown College in an early season MAC match-up. Four Eastern players scored two goals apiece in the loss.

The host Blue jays jumped to an early 6-0 lead and owned a commanding 13-4 lead at intermission. They held a 30-9 edge in first-half shots.

Courtney Reinhold scored her first of the afternoon three minutes into the second half on a free position shot. After the game, Eastern Head Coach Camrin Azzarano cited her team's execution on free position shots as a positive from the afternoon. Eastern was 7-11 from the eight meter arc.

The two teams each scored six goals after the intermission, and the Eagles closed the gap in ground balls and draw controls, but they were unable to get within six goals of their hosts.

Reinhold, Grace Griffith, Christy Hild, and Kelly Dando all finished with two goals.

"There were a lot of positives from today," Azzarano noted, "We still have work to do, but I felt like we competed in the second half, and that is something to build on. [Lindsey] Corbitt stepped up in the second half as well."

The Eagles (0-3, 0-2 MAC) host The College of New Jersey in a non league game on Tuesday.
