HAVERFORD, Pa.--Eastern field hockey stumbled at Haverford College Thursday, losing the afternoon game 6-1.
Haverford (6-4) scored five goals in the first half, beginning with a score by Bryn Bissey in the eigth minute. The goal is Bissey's fifth on the season. Junior Mary Hobbs scored the Fords' last two goals of the half, increasing her season total to 14.
The Eagles finally broke into the scoring column in the 59th minute. Jess Jaindl scored her third goal of the season off an assist by Yvonne Herbster.
The Eagles were not without opportunities. The Eagles shot 15 times compared to Haverford's 18. The Eagles also earned 15 penalty corners to Haverford's five.
Eastern looks to rebound Saturday at noon versus King's College for homecoming.
