Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

April 6: Women's Lacrosse Rolls Past Rosemont

Throughout the year, the Eastern University women's lacrosse coaches have challenged their team to work offense and create goals for each other. The Eagles responded with a season-high thirteen assists in a decisive 17-2 win over Rosemont College. Krystal Cairns led the way for the Eagles with a goal and seven assists.

The Eagles scored 11 times on 13 shots in the opening half. The defense, meanwhile, held the Ravens to just six shots before the intermission. Kristy Getsay played the opening 34 minutes and made three saves to pick up the win. Grace Griffith scored four times before the break. The junior standout raised her season total to 43. Kelly Dando, Sarah Hager, Kendall Rood, Allie Fultz, Jessica Hanzsche and Cairns also added goals in the first half.

The Eagles continued to dominate play in the second half, but the Ravens answered Fultz's second tally of the day with 25 minutes to play. Eastern stretched the lead to 17-1 before the hosts tallied again late.

Cairns seven assists ties an Eastern University single-game record held by 2009 graduate and current assistant coach Jessie Basch. Basch, Eastern's leader in single season and career assists, hit the mark three times in her career.

Eastern returns to action at Arcadia University on Saturday.
