Game Recap: Field Hockey |

#8 Field Hockey Wins at WPU

Jess Jaindl recorded her fourth multi-goal game of the year as Eastern Field Hockey concluded their regular season with a 4-0 win at William Paterson University. Jaindl scored all four goals as the #8 Eagles (17-2, 7-0 Freedom) earned their ninth shutout of the campaign.

Eastern Head Coach Camrin Azzarano was pleased with the way her squad wrapped up the regular season and is looking forward to seeing them continue to grow through the upcoming conference playoffs.

The Eagles scored two goals in each half. Though Jaindl, who did not score a goal until her sixth game of the year, placed the final ball past the goalie on all the Eagle tallies, she was hardly a one person show. Yvonne Herbster recorded three assists, and Brittany Moyer added another assist. The positive showing from the three forwards was especially encouraging with Kim Campbell missing her second straight game with injury.

Herbster set up the game-winner in the 22nd minute. Six minutes later, Jaindl redirected a Moyer pass. The Eagles held a 9-4 edge in first-half shots, but the host Pioneers applied pressure with six penalty corners.

Jaindl added her 15th and 16th tallies of the year after the intermission.Laura Ressler finished with seven stops to secure the shutout victory.

Eastern field hockey will host Delaware Valley in a Freedom Conference Semifinal on Wednesday at 2:30. Four Eastern University teams will host first round action mid-week.
