Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Falls at Wheaton

Eastern University Women's Soccer dropped its second game of the year as they fell to the the two-time defending National Champion Wheaton College Thunder by a 6-1 score.

Wheaton's Taryne Lee, who earned National Player of the Year honors in 2007, made sure that the Thunder would continue to roll as she scored the first four goals in a 6-1 Wheaton win. With the win, the hosts secured the Bob Baptista Invitational Championship.

Lee scored three goals in the opening half with two coming on brilliant strikes and a third coming on a nicely placed through ball. The junior standout struck again fifteen minutes into the second half. Steffie Sauder scored the lone Eastern goal on a restart from thirty yards out.

The Eagles will travel back east after visiting Chicago tomorrow.  Coach Mouw said of the game, "We played significantly better today than we did yesterday, but the team we played today has a tremendous ability and is capitalizing on the smallest of miscues. This will be a game that will help us as we grow through the year."
