Junior midfielder Jessie Basch scored five times on six shots as the Eastern University women's lacrosse team jumped to a 9-1 halftime lead and held on for a 17-6 win at Kings College on Monday afternoon. The win is the fifth straight for an Eagles (7-3) squad that is four games into a six game stretch of games away from Olson Field.
The coaching staff was pleased with the efficiency of the attack, as the Eagles moved the ball well and were able to capitalize on chances early. Grace Griffith continues to find the net as she recorded her fifth straight multi-goal game with a three goal effort. The first year attack from Amherst, Massachusetts has scored in nine of the ten Eastern games and has multi-goal efforts in eight of those. Erin Fries also picked up three goals for the Eagles.
Katie Choquette scored two goals around the cage, and first year midfielder Katie Maguire earned a season-best three assists on the day. Kim Campbell made five of her six saves in the first half before giving way midway through the second period to Tiffany Snyder who finished the game.
The Eagles continue their road ways on Thursday with a night game at Rowan University.
