Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

April 10: Women's Lacrosse Falls at Rowan

The Eastern University women's lacrosse team entered this evening's road game at Rowan on a five game winning streak. The host Profs held a seven game streak with their only losses of the year coming early to highly-ranked Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg. The Eagles took a 1-0 lead early, but fell 13-6.

Grace Griffith scored her first of two goals to open the scoring for the Eagles just 72 seconds into the game. Rowan answered back just a minute later. After the Profs took a 2-1 lead on the first of four goals on the day from Caitlin Meseroll, Erin Reimel tucked away her first of two on the evening on a pass from Jessie Basch to knot the game at 2-2 seven minutes into the game.

Rowan pushed to an 8-3 halftime lead in the decisive final twenty minutes of the period. Kim Campbell made six of her eight saves in the first period.

The Eastern staff was pleased with the work of their defense as the game progressed. Coach Azzarano said of the game, "We played with good organization and we were able to force turnovers. In games like these we need to shoot a better percentage."

The Eagles forced Rowan goalie Alicia Mannino to make six of her eight saves in the second half. Jessie Basch caused four turnovers and picked up a game-high five ground balls while scoring a goal and registering three assists. Reimel and Griffith finished with a pair of goals. Katie Maguire added a single tally.

Eastern will return to conference play with a 1:00 pm game at Neumann College this Saturday.
