It was the Eastern bats, however, that struggled as the Eagles dropped both games.

Eastern fell 6-2 in the opener. Haverford jumped to a 5-0 lead after three innings. The Eagles put runners on throughout the opening frames of the contest, but did not score until Michelle Morongell drove in Elise Murante with a two-out single in the top of the sixth. Eastern picked up their second run when Murante delivered a bases-loaded single in a seventh-inning rally that ended with three more runners on base. The Eagles put together nine hits in the opener. Kristine Rosko took the loss in game one.

Val Heffline started on the mound for the Eagles in game two. Heffline kept the Eagles in the game in her first collegiate start, but a four run sixth inning for the hosts spoiled her debut. Coach Ambler said of Heffline's efforts, "She pitched really well for us. That game was a 1-0 game. We gave away some runs in the sixth, and we couldn't get the offense going."  

The Eagles were held to just a pair of hits in the nightcap. Eastern returns to action Thursday at Arcadia before closing out the conference schedule at home this Saturday.
