The Eagles came into the day fresh off a doubleheader sweep of Centenary on Friday. The day started out well enough, but the Pacers took advantage of a couple miscues to piece together an 11 run 3rd. The Eastern bats never got going in the first game, and Marywood held on for an 11-1 win.
Eastern turned the tide in the nightcap as they belted 13 hits while Marywood managed just eight hits. The Eagles plated a pair in the fifth and sixth to break open a 2-2 game at take a 6-3 lead. Marywood's rally fell short as the Pacers left the bases loaded in the sixth after getting back just one run.
Raychel Weis picked up the win as she struck out seven over a seven inning effort. She allowed just one earned run.
The Eagles return to action Tuesday with a non-conference road doubleheader at Widener University.
