A pair of first year players turned in big RBI performances as Val Heffline drove in four in an 8-2 win in the opener. Not to be outdone, Amy Bellows connected for her first collegiate home run while driving in six in a 12-3 win in the nightcap.
Raychel Weis allowed just four hits and no earned runs to earn the win in game one. Ashley Lewis made some big pitches to get out of jams and earned the win in game two.
Coach Ambler said of the day, "We really crushed the ball today. Val had the three run triple in the third inning, and Brubaker went 4-4 in game two. We hope this gives us good momentum going into tomorrow."
The Eagles will return to action tomorrow afternoon at Marywood for another critical doubleheader. Game one is scheduled for a 2:00 pm start.
