Women's Basketball Falls at Neumann

 basketball team stumbled out of the gate . The Neumann College Knights jumped to a 24-5 lead midway through the half and continued to pull away to a an 85-62 win.

The Knights pulled out to a 23 point advantage with five minutes to play in the period before the Eagles put together a 12-3 run to close out the half down 36-24. Mandy Kuiken had eight points at the break to lead the Eagles. Caitlin Agnew led the Knights, who shot 52% from the floor with 10 points at the break. The Eagles managed just 25% shooting in the opening half and earned only eight foul shots.

The Eagles attacked the basket in the second half and earned 27 free throws, but Neumann's balanced attack proved to be too much for the Eagles. Joelle DeCarlo led the Eastern parade to the line in the second with a six of seven effort. DeCarlo would share team-high point honors with 14 on the evening. Kuiken also finished with 14 on three three-pointers and five free throws.

Shaneen Brown made her presence felt on the interior with a twelve point and 13 rebound effort. Brown made five of seven shots in close and continues to improve her overall game even as the Eagles have struggled through injuries.

The Knights put four players, led by Dorothy Rozier's game-high 16 points, in double figures. The Knights shot 48% from the field and out-rebounded the Eagls 49-40 for the evening. Eastern will try to snap their six game skid when they travel to the College of Notre Dame Thursday night.
