With a 4-0 win over Delaware Valley College today, Eastern University Field Hockey set up a battle for home field advantage against Misericordia University tomorrow. The Eagles scored three second-half goals to secure the win.

Rainy weather earlier in the week twice forced Del Val to postpone their Senior Day. The Eagles looked rested early as they jumped to a lead early in the contest. Standout freshman Yvonne Herbster opened the scoring just 91 seconds into the contest as she took a feed from Lindsay Moyer, dribbled into the box and notched her seventh goal of the year.

The Eagles held an 8-3 edge in first half shots, but Del Val's Jackie Deschenes turned away 5 first-half saves to keep Eastern from increasing their advantage.

Eastern was able to earn some breathing room early in the second half. Kim Campbell scored her 12th of the year five minutes into the second half on a pass from Herbster. Midway through the half, Lindsay Moyer connected on her team-best 13th of the year on a pass from Kristin Brownett.

Christin Haas closed out the scoring for the Eagles off another Herbster assist.

Eastern held a 22-14 advantage in shots while Laura Ressler and Kelly Herman combined for 10 saves and the shutout.Deschenes finished the day with 13 saves for the Aggies.

The win improved the Eagles to 11-6 overall and 6-1 in the conference. The Aggies fell to 10-9 overall and 1-6 in the Freedom.  Eastern's noon game against Misericordia on Saturday will in all likelihood determine the second seed for the Freedom Conference Playoffs. The Eagles hosted the Cougars late in the year last year before hosting them in the PAC Semifinals. Eastern won both those games without giving up a goal.
