to an 89-66 win over the Eastern University women's team in PAC basketball action. The Eagles battled to the end, but the Cyclones hit 17 of 28 foul shots in the second half to secure the win. Mandy Kuiken led four Eastern players in double figures with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Eagles trailed by 10 at the half, but were in the game due in large part to great work on the offensive glass. Shanell Timothy ripped down four of the Eagles' 14 offensive boards in the opening period and led the Eagles with seven points. The visiting Cyclones made good use of the transition game and capitalized on 10 first half steals. They also shot 3-7 from behind the arc to claim the 36-26 lead.
Out of the break, the Eagles looked sharp and took care of the ball as they carved into the Cyclone lead. Centenary then seized control of the game with the decisive 11-0 run. Timothy finished the game with 12 points and nine rebounds, and Patrice Freeman scored 13. Hannah Tobin again hit double figures with 10 points and 7 rebounds.
For the Cyclones (6-3 2-1)Kristen Caruso led all scorers with 16 points and was joined in double figures by Stephanie Roberts with 15, and Leah Murphy with 13. Eastern (1-9 0-3) returns to action Tuesday night with a 6:00 pm game against Rutgers-Camden.
