Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer wins at Gwynedd-Mercy

Jill DiRenzo scored twice and Ashley Hackman picked up a goal and a pair of assists as Eastern Women's Soccer earned a 4-0 win at Gwynedd-Mercy College.

The Eagles jumped on the board in the fourth minute as Kara Neef picked up a ball on the right flank and whipped a ball into the scoring zone. DiRenzo cleaned up the serve and flipped the ball into the top of the net for her team-best ninth goal of the year.

Moments later, the Eagles doubled their advantage as Hackman earned the edge on the left flank and drove the ball across the face of the goal for DiRenzo on the near post. DiRenzo redirected the ball in on the near post for her team-best tenth goal of the year.

Neef earned her second helper of the game as she whipped a ball across the face that Hackman headed home for her fifth goal of the season.

Chrissy West put away a Hackman pass to close out the scoring with 15 minutes remaining in the first half. The assist Coach Mouw said of his team's efforts, " We were effective in the final third early,  but  we  struggled to connect in the second half. Some credit should go to the Gwynedd-Mercy players who kept working to be disruptive,  but we want to keep working to be more precise in our play."

Amber Cummins and Amanda Daveler each played a half in goal for the Eagles as Eastern recorded their fifth shutout of the season. The Eagles went 3-0 on the week, and will return to action at Neumann College on Monday.
