Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Beats Chestnut Hill for Fourth Straight Win

Eastern University Men's Soccer won its fourth straight game with a 2-0 home non-conference win over Chestnut Hill College.

The Eagles jumped into command of the game early on a corner kick goal from Raffle. The sophomore forward headed home a Ryan Castle corner in the fourth minute for his fifth goal of the year.  The Eagles had the first eleven shots of the game, and14 shots in the first half, but Chestnut Hill keeper Duhon Malali made several solid saves to keep his squad in the game including a beautiful reaction save on another Raffle header in the 24th minute.

The Eagles pressed the action to start the second half and were finally able to secure an insurance goal in the 61st minute. After some patience in the midfield, Aaron Tritch took an Alex Clark pass near the touchline on the right side. Tritch squared up to his defender and earned the endline with a strong run before whipping a ball into the box for VanBrackle near the mouth of the goal. VanBrackle did not squander the chance as he took a touch before turning and blasting a shot into the roof of the net for his fourth of the season.

The Eagles dominated the game statistically as they released 29 shots to the Griffin's five. Malali recorded eleven saves on the afternoon, while Michael Dorsch made a single save in the second half in relief of Noah Bartelt.

The Eagles return to action Saturday in the second game of a soccer double-header at Gwynedd-Mercy. Eastern's women will play Gwynedd-Mercy at noon with the men's game following.
