Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Rallies Past Centenary

Eastern Men's Soccer trailed 1-0 to the Centenary College Cyclones at the half. The Eagles got their legs underneath them for a four goal second half and an important PAC win.

Despite out-shooting the host Cyclones 13-5 in the opening half, the visiting Eagles were unable to generate a goal. Centenary took a lead in the 19th minute on long throw play from Ryan Bilello to Damien Gallegos. The Cyclones made that goal stand into the halftime break. The Eastern staff was pleased with the way the game opened, saying, "In the opening minutes we came out and generated great chances behind the Cyclones' back line, but after we gave up the goal, our level dropped and we struggled through the rest of the half."

The Eagles looked more like themselves coming out in the second half as the attack started to click, and the shots that just missed or went into the keeper in the first half started to go into the goal.  Taylor VanBrackle knotted the game eleven minutes into the second half off a cross from Raffle. Raffle served a ball from the left side the came into the box slightly behind VanBrackle. The 2006 All Mid-Atlantic selection took the ball with his back foot and in one motion cracked a shot with his right foot for his third of third goal of the year.

Aaron Tritch broke the tie with less than fifteen minutes to play when he redirected a Scott Patrick free kick for his second of the year. Tritch gave the Eagles a 3-1 edge five minutes later on a serve from Lance Burris on the right side.

Raffle finished the scoring for the Eagles with a volley from the top of the box off a ball from Patrick. The Eagles, now 1-1 in the PAC, return to action Saturday with an away contest at Marywood.
