The 2007 could not have started better.
Elya Troup scored in the opening minute of the game, and Eastern University Field Hockey scored two more goals in the second half for a 3-0 win at Philadelphia Biblical University.
Troup scored in the 48th minute to double the Eastern lead and Jaimie Heck put in her first of the year with two minutes left for the final margin.
Olivia Derr,
Lindsay Moyer, and
Katerina Tellis picked up assists in the win.
Despite the 3-0 win, the Eagles left the game feeling the need for improvement in several areas. Eastern failed to convert on any of their 16 penalty corner opportunities and managed to find the backboard only three times in 20 shots.
Kelly Garland made one save to earn the shutout win.
The Eagles will host Gordon College tomorrow.
