When karen Hertzog drewa two-out walk to cut the Moravian lead to 2-1 in the third inning of game one, things looked like they might work out for the Eagles, but after Steph Okeson lined out to third, the Eagles would have just one more baserunner on the game and two more for the game.
Sophomore shortsop Alyssa Brubaker reached base twice in game one and coaxed a leadoff wallk in game two before Moravian sophomore Maria DeBonis set down the next 27 Eastern batters in order. The Greyhounds stretched their 2-1 lead to 10-1 with two in the bottom of the third and six in the fourth to put the game away. In the seond game, the hosts jumped to a 2-0 first inning lead before tacking on three in the second and three more in the fifth.
The Eagles, who are still in the PAC playoff mix, have a non-league double-header agaisnt Haverford on Thursday before taking on Rosemont on Saturday. The Eagles need to take a pair off the last place Ramblers to get to 12 wins on the year in the PAC and ensure at least a tie forthe sixth spot.
