Game Recap: Softball |

April 26: Softball offense struggles at Haverford

on the heels of ten straight scoreless innings with just a single hit. The Eagles were able to generate seven hits in the two games at Haverford, but were unable to plate a run in a pair of close losses.

Ashley Lewis allowed just a single earned run the first game as she scattered four hits over six innings, but the Fords were able to break open a 1-0 game with a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth to take game one.

The Fords picked up ten hits in game two, but Raychel Weis kept the Eagles  in the  game as she  didn't give up a run in the first three innings. Haverford picked up a pair of runs in the fourth and then single runs in the fifth and sixth to take the game. The Eagles put a pair of runners on in the seventh and got a two out double from Amanda Daveler in the sixth, but were unable to score.

The Eagles hope to get back on the winning track on Saturday when they travel to Rosemont for a double-header with playoff implications. If the Eagles win a pair, they will ensure themselves of a tie for the sixth. With six teams earning bids to the conference playoffs, the Eagles are currently tied with Alvernia at 10-10, and the Crusaders have a Saturday double-header against Immaculata. Marywood sits at 9-9 with games against Gwynedd-Mercy and league-leading Arcadia on the schedule.
