and on the mound as the visiting College Misericordai Cougars drummed 17 hits and broke a 4-4 tie with a four run fifth as they cruised to a 12-5 nine inning win.
The Cougars did not hit the ball overly hard as, they only picked up one one extra base hit off Eastern starter Andrew Reynolds, but they were able to find gap after gap and took advantage of seven walks to break the game open. Ryan Savka hit a ninth inning home run to extend the Misericordia lead to its final number.
Things didn't look bleak in the bottom of the third when Davis Murray and John Montague cracked a RBI singles to fuel a four run rally and tie the game at four, but the Eagles could only muster an eighth inning RBI double from Davis the rest of the way.
The two teams return to action with a double-header in Dallas tomorrow.
