Field Hockey Starts Homecoming with Win

Eastern University Field Hockey welcomed local rival Rosemont College Friday night to kick off Eastern's homecoming weekend. Lindsay Moyer and Kim Campbell each scored twice in the 7-0 win.

Eastern jumped out to a lead in the third minute on an Olivia Derr shot from in front of the cage. Three minutes later, Stephanie Moyer doubled the lead off a pass from Campbell. In the 10th minute, Jaimie Heck scored her tenth goal of the season on a pass from Derr.

Campbell knocked in her 11th of the year on a Stephani Moyer pass in the 14th minute. The junior transfer has emerged as a major threat for the Eagles in the second half of the year. She did not score a goal until the seventh game of the year, and has now scored a goal in nine of her last ten and eight straight games. Campbell scored a critical game-winner over Montclair State earlier in the week.

Lindsay Moyer popped in her first of the game and twelth of the game in the 17th minute to give the Eagles, who had a 17-0 edge in shots a 5-0 first half advantage.  Rosemont's Adrian Demchenko made 9 of her 20 saves in the first half.

Campbell scored from Stephanie Moyer in the 54th minute, and Lindsay Moyer rounded out the scoring in the 63rd minute with an unassisted tally. The Eagles improve to 12-5 on the year and 8-1 in the PAC. The Eagles return to action in the PAC with an important home game against Misericordia University next Wednesday.
