The visiting Neumann College Knights held Eastern Field Hcoeky scoreless for the opening frame, but four goals in the first part of the second half lifted Eastern to their eleventh win of the year.
After out-shooting the Knights by a slim 4-2 margin in the opening half, the Eagles scored just 55 seconds into the second on Jaimie Heck's goal from Olivia Derr. Five and a half minutes later, Kim Campbell doubled the lead with her first of two goals on the afternoon. The junior transfer from Malvern has come on strong in the second half of the season and scored her ninth and tenth goals of the season despite a two year lay-off from hockey to play Division I Lacrosse. Â
Derr scored from Campbell in the 50th minute to give the Eagles a three goal cushion. Campbell knocked in her second of the game three minutes later to give Eastern their final margin. Kelly Garland made one save in goal to secure the shutout as the Eagles compiled a 17-3 advantage in shots and an 11-1 advantage in penalty corners on the afternoon.
Eastern returns to action Friday afternoon with a home game against Rosemont College.
