Jimmy Tarsnane

Jimmy Tarsnane joined the Eastern University Cross Country coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant in 2014. Tarsnane comes to Eastern after completing his Bachelor of Arts in History and is currently pursuing his Master degree in Education.

Coach Jimmy brings unique and fresh perspective on the sport, having competed at the highest collegiate level. Tarsnane competed on scholarship at Iona College, a top-10 nationally ranked D1 program.  He twice received All Conference honors despite a series of injuries that sidelined him for significant periods of time.

His collegiate success was preceded by a stellar high school career.  In high school, Jimmy won the PIAA Cross Country as well as the PIAA 3200 Meter State Championships.  He placed 6th in the National 3000 Championship, earning him All-American Honors.  In addition, he was voted to the All State, All Area and All Conference teams multiple times, as well as setting several course records at various invitational meets.

Jimmy has a passion for coaching and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Eastern staff. Now in his second year with the Eagles, our teams have benefited greatly from his coaching and willingness to share his knowledge with younger runners.
