Taylor, a New Jersey native began his coaching career in 2011 at the age of nineteen where he started his own grassroots AAU basketball team "The Jersey Heat Family Elite" for the youth in his community. For the last 11 years, Taylor has helped over 85 student athletes receive academic and athletic scholarships through his program, including current NBA player Myles Powell, Harlem Globetrotter Kamil Brown.
Taylor had a stint with the Philadelphia Eagles and played four years of professional arena football with various teams such as the Philadelphia Soul, Richmond Raiders, ASI Panthers and San Angelo Bandits and the Jersey Bearcats.
Taylor retired from arena football in 2016 and returned to Hillside where he became a varsity offensive line football coach as well as the girl's assistant varsity basketball coach at Hillside High School. In 2019, he was named the head varsity girls basketball coach. In his first year, the team won their conference for the first time since 2012. Additionally, Hillside set a program reocrd with 15 consecutive victories.Â

After two years at high school level, Taylor became the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at New Jersey City University. In 2021, he helped coach the Gothic Knights to their first NJAC Championship in school history.Â
Taylor recently finished a two-year stint as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at SUNY Ulster County Community College in Stone Ridge, N.Y., reviving a program that had not competed since 2019. He went on to lead the Senators to their most wins in program history.Â
Taylor finished his degree in Communications at Kean University in 2014. In 2020, Taylor obtained certification in Religious Literacy: Traditions and Scriptures from Harvard University. He continues to train and do skill development for the youth in his community. He currently resides in Hillside, NJ with his spouse Catherine and their two children, nine year old Nathan and four year old Tristan.
