Maitri Pansania joins the Eastern coaching staff after Competing for four years at the University of Charleston in West Virginia. Originally from Mumbai, India, Pansania came a long way from home to compete in the jumps and multi events while at Charleston.
While there, Pansania earned numerous all-conference and all-region accolades and was twice the Mountain East Conference Champion in the women's triple jump. In addition, Maitri was recognized as the 2018 MEC Field Athlete of the Year after representing Charleston at the NCAA DII National Championships.
"We are very excited to have Maitri joining our staff," Head Coach Mike Wilson said. "With her extensive background and personal successes in the jumps and multis, she will be extremely valuable to we're trying to do here as a group. She brings a ton of energy to our young team, and I am looking forward to seeing her take off as a new, young coach in the sport."
Pansania will work directly with jumpers and hurdlers, and will have significant recruiting responsibilities. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and will be pursuing her MA in Clinical Counseling here at Eastern.
