Mark Spangler leads both tennis programs at Eastern. He took the leadership of the men's program in 2008 and the women's program in the fall of that same year.
A 1998 graduate of Eastern, Mark Spangler played all four years on the men’s team. In three of his four years, the Eagles earned team championships, and Spangler had success as both a singles and doubles player. In 1995 he won a #4 singles title; in 1997 he earned a PAC Championship at #1 doubles and also reached the finals at #2 singles in both 1997 and 1998. He received the Coach's Award in each of his last two years as a player. He was named to the PAC/CSAC 25th Anniversary Team this past fall.Â
Coach Spangler has over 20 years experience coaching and teaching the game at several local tennis programs, where he coached many ranked USTA junior players. Along with leading the Men's and Women's Tennis Teams at Eastern, he, also, currently coaches at the Delaware Valley Tennis Academy in Bryn Mawr, Pa.
As a college coach, he is committed to seeing his student-athletes have success not only on the tennis court but also in the classroom as they grow in their faith and become people of integrity. Â
 He lives in Conshohocken with his wife Carline and children.
