Eastern University Athletics

Luca Mellor became the head coach of the Eastern Men's Soccer program in the summer of 2023, taking over leadership after having served as an assistant in the program for two years. In addition to his work on the field, the UK native received a graduate degree from the Templeton Honors College and worked as an academic support counselor in Eastern's Athletic Department. Under his tutelage, nine Eagles have been named to All-MAC Commonwealth teams. 

Originally from the United Kingdom, Mellor played collegiately in the Big East at nearby Villanova where he captained the program in the back row. Before Villanova, he played one season and started sixteen games in the ACC at the University of Pittsburgh. 

He began his soccer journey in the Manchester United youth system before moving to Bradford City where he captained the U18 squad and made several appearances with the club's U21 side. After college, he continued to play in USL2 with West Chester United FC where he was named to the USL2 team of the season in 2021. With West Chester, Mellor has won four national titles in the APSL, Werner Fricker Open Cup, and USASA Amateur Cup.
