Trey Montgomery

Trey Montgomery returns as an assistant coach for the Easter Men's Basketball program. Montgomery spent the four years as an assistant coach at Destrehan High School in Destrehan, La. He has also spent time coaching the U-14 AAU Louisiana Legends team.

As a collegiate player, Montgomery played at Division I Samford University under Coach Jimmy Tillette. Montgomery was a four-year letterman and two-year captain of the Samford Men’s Basketball Team. In 2009 Montgomery was an All-SoCon Conference Tournament Team selection. He was selected as a 2010 All-Tournament Team at the Hispanic College Funds Classic at Kent State University.

In 2010 Montgomery was a National Strength and Conditioning All-American. He was a 2010 All-Conference Honorable Mention recipient. Montgomery was a two-time Recipient of the Samford Assist Award and the Samford Kevy McGinnis Award. He was the recipient of the Jim Griffin Practice Hard Award and Samford Rebound Award. Montgomery scored over 1,000 points, totaled 400 rebounds and recorded 250 assists in his career.

During Montgomery's professional career he played for the Albuquerque Thunderbirds in the NBDL. He also spent two seasons overseas in Germany for the VfB1900 Giessen Pointers. Montgomery also played two seasons in the ABA as a member of the Jackson Showboats.
