Nick Horvath brings a wealth of experience to the Eastern University staff.
The Temple University graduate has coached at the club and college level and has run a personal agility and basketball training company.
He comes to Eastern after serving as an assistant for player development at Gwynedd Mercy University. While he was there, the Griffins had a pair of 20-win seasons and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2019. Only five days before the NCAA shut down sports in 2020, Gwynedd-Mercy won an ECAC Championship with a 75-71 home win over Rutgetrs Newark.
Before Gwynedd Mercy he served on the staff of a high-level East Coast Power AAU squad that featured five Division I commits and won a major invitational. Basketball also gave him the opportunity to travel, as he worked with the Villanova legend Rollie Massimino to take a team to the International Goodwill games in 2009.
Horvath earned his Master's and his Special Education certificate from Eastern University and currently teaches history at Methacton High School.
He lives in Bryn Mawr with his wife and two children.
