Michael Moffitt was picked to lead Eastern University's Track and Field and Cross Country Programs in the summer of 2020. Moffitt comes to Eastern with great success as a competitive athelte and after being part of a very successful coaching staff at Indiana Wesleyan University.
As an athlete, Moffitt excelled in the High Jump where he claimed a pair of NAIA National Championships and was a six-time NAIA All-American in the event. He also claimed six NCCAA National titles in the event over his his career.
After graduation, Moffitt, worked in admissions at his Alma Mater before joining the Track and Field and Cross Country staffs. Indiana Wesleyan was named the 2019 USTFCCCA NAIA Men's Program of the Year. Moffitt worked specifically with jumpers, but also was involved in recruiting, operations, and mentoring.
His mother was an Olympic-level high jumper who was the first head Track and Field coach at Bethel University (IN), and his sister Janae was a four-time Big Ten Champion in the event. His father played college football at Fresno State before a stint in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers.
He has a commitment to building training programs to maximize individual performance and to developing a team culture where student-athletes grow in faith, in their academics, in their social lives, and in competition.
