Matt Esquijerosa

Matthew Esquijerosa is entering his third season with the Eastern Baseball program and his first full season as the team’s Pitching Coach. He  served as the Assistant Pitching Coach and Bullpen Coach during his first two years with the program.

A native of Miami, Florida, Esquijerosa played a key role in the development of Eastern’s pitching staff since his arrival in 2023. Under his guidance, the Eagles have shown consistent improvement across key pitching metrics, including ERA, batting average against, walks, hits, wild pitches, hit-by-pitches, and strikeouts. His work has contributed to back-to-back Second-Team All-MAC Commonwealth selections for relief pitchers John Westfield (2024) and Roy Corso (2025). Esquijerosa is certified by Driveline Baseball in Pitching Mechanics and Biomechanics.

Esquijerosa was a collegiate pitcher. He began his career at Cabrini University before transferring to Ave Maria University in Southwest Florida, where he pitched for three seasons. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing from Ave Maria. In May 2025, he completed his MBA in Management from Eastern University.

In addition to leading the pitching staff and recruiting, he also handles all baseball operations for the program, bringing a strong passion for player development and organizational excellence to the Eastern Baseball program.
