ST. DAVIDS, Pa.— Eastern University Women's Soccer (4-4-1) dropped a 2-0 decision to the visiting Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen in non-league action today. The Dutchmen (4-3) scored once in each half to claim the win.
Though the game was played mostly in the midfield, LVC forward Abrielle Miller found two moments of quality that turned out to be the difference. The Dutchmen had a slight 10-7 edge in shots, but the guests put eight on frame. and limited the Eagles to just three on-target efforts.
Miller opened the scoring in the 37th minute after a brief dribbling run with a shot from the top of the box to the low corner.
Early in the second half, the Eagles had their best chance to equalize after earning a corner kick.
Corrine Myers put a header on frame, but LVC goalkeeper Carmryn Porter moved quickly to turn away the in-close effort. The Eagles had three second-half corners and were dangerous on each but each of the next two shots went wide.
Miller's second moment came in the 67th minute. The after pressing through a tough challenge at the top of the box, the senior forward earned the 18 and lifted. aleft-footed effort into the upper corner for her sixth tally of the year.
The Eagles wrap up their non-league schedule on Saturday at Haverford.
