ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Middle Atlantic Conference today released weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 27. Senior running back
Jeremiah Avrilien and sophomore linebacker
DonJuan Clark III led the charge on both sides of the line of scrimmage in Eastern Football's 21-7 win at Delaware Valley on Saturday.
Avrilien recorded his third straight 100-yard game on the ground. The Miami Gardens, Fla. native rushed 177 yards on 29 carries and averaged 6.1 per rush. His seventh rushing touchdown of the year in the final 30 seconds of the first half gave the Eagles a lead they would not relinquish. Behind Avrilien's tough running, the Eagles set a new program record with 365 rushing yards in the victory.
Clark III played the best football of his collegiate career on Saturday, leading a stout effort by the Eastern defense. The Philadelphia product led the Eagles with six tackles to go along with a sack, the first for the Eagles this season, and his first career forced fumble and interception. The Eastern defense held the Aggies to just 145 yards of offense.
This is the second time that multiple Eastern Football players have been selected as Player of the Week. Avrilien earned his second of the fall and the fourth of his career, while Clark III claimed his first MAC POTW accolade.
