ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - The Middle Atlantic Conference Office today released weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 13. Following a record-breaking performance on the ground in Saturday's win over Misericordia, Eastern Football running back Jeremiah Avrilien was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season and the third time in his collegiate career.

On a day where the Eagles rushed for a program record 352 yards, Avrilien did most of the heavy lifting. The senior from Miami Gardens, Fla. carried the ball 22 times for 244 yards and scored three touchdowns on Saturday, averaging 11.1 yards per carry.

His 244 yards was also a program record and the single-game high for a Division III running back this season. He scored touchdowns from two, 57, and 61 yards out, and his 61-yard scamper midway through the fourth quarter powered the Eagles to a 27-21 victory in its home and MAC opener.

Since the beginning of last season, this is the ninth weekly honor for Eastern Football. Avrilien joins quarterback Brett Nabb as the only two Eagles to earn multiple weekly honors from the conference office. He was also named to the D3football.com Team of the Week.

Eastern (1-1, 1-0) returns to Radnor Street Road on Saturday for another critical early season MAC showdown against the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen.
