SCHUYLKILL VALLEY, Pa.— With a pair of regular-season conference championships on the line, Eastern University Flag Footbal claimed three wins in a day for the first time in program history. The Eagles (19-2) opened the day with a routine 47-0 win over the host Penn State Schuylkill Lions before buckling down for two of the stiffest tests of the year. They earned close wins over Marymount and Wagner.
A late extra point conversion proved to be the difference as the Eagles claimed a 14-13 win over Atlantic East and ECAC rival Marymount. With a pair of
Jeriyah Johnson touchdowns, the Eagles erased a 13-0 lead to earn their first win over the Saints in program history. With the win, the Eagles claim the top seed and will host next Saturday's Atlantic East Championship tournament.
Kira Green threw for 139 yards and a touchdown. Kyla Massenberg ran for the decisive extra points and finished with 36 rushing yards and finished with three tackles for loss.
Damiyae Moyet picked off a pass late to seal the deal.
Green threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns in Eastern's 14-6 win over Wagner. The Eagles will be eligible for the upcoming ECAC Championships as well.
In the opener against the hosts, Massenberg ran for 123 yards and Green threw for five scores. As important, The Eastern defensive backfield picked of six passes.
Molly Schellpeper snared three interceptions, Moyet had two, and Johsnon grabbed another.
