ST. DAVIDS, Pa. — Eastern University Flag Football scored three first-quarter touchdowns and cruised to a 55-0 home win over Mercy College in ECAC action. Sophomore quarterback
Kira Green threw for 229 yards and six scores to lead the Eastern attack.
Jeriyah Johnson caught three touchdowns in the first ten minutes of the contest. The senior receiver gathered in a 22-yard pass, and 15-yarder, and one from 24 yards out.
Though Green completed 16-of-20 passes on the afternoon, those first three scores would have been enough as the Eastern defense continued to dominate. Dominique Gieger had an interception return for a touchdown the second quarter, and Kyla Massenberg had three sacks to go with a rising touchdown.
The Mercy offense managed only seven first downs and 137 total yards.
Molly Schellpeper,
Ayianna Ridgeway, and
Kendall Williams all caught scores in the seconds half.
The Eagles (10-1) will return to Atlantic East play with home games against Holy Family and Neumann on Thursday.
