ARLINGTON, Va. — Eastern University Flag Football opened the day with a decisive win over Penn State Schuylkill, but the Eagles (6-1) saw their unbeaten start come to an end with a 25-0 shutout loss at Marymount University.
Kira Green threw for four touchdowns and 167 yards in the 41-6 win over the Lions.
Molly Schellpeper had a pair of interceptions as the Eastern defense held PSU-Schuylkill to only 115 total yards. Damaiyae Moyet and jeriyah Johnson each caught two touchdowns.
The Eastern offense struggled to get behind the Marymount defense. Green completed 19-of-28 passes, but her longest completion of the day went for only 18 yards, and the Saints picked off two passes.
After a scoreless first quarter, Marymount broke through with a score on an 11-play drive late in the half. The Saints doubled the lead with an 11-minute drive to start the second half.
The Eagles will host Immaculata and Marywood on Tuesday. Immaculata earned a 12-6 win over Marymount to start the season. Eastern and Marymount will play again on April 18.
