PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—
Kira Green threw for seven touchdowns and ran for three more and the defense continued to dominate as Eastern Flag Football earned a pair of shutout wins in Atlantic East Conference play at Holy Family University.
The Neumann Knights (3-1) kept the Eastern offense in check early, but the Eagles scored three times in the fourth to pull away to a 33—0 win. The Eastern defense held Neumann to negative rushing yards and only 14-of-32 for 133 yards through the air. As important, the Eagles stole the ball six times on interceptions.
Molly Schellpeper picked off three, and
Jeriyah Johnson,
Dominique Geiger, and
Damiyae Moyet each snagged one.
Briel Hyppolite continued to menace quarterbacks with three more sacks.
Moyet caught two touchdowns, and Schellpeper and Johnson each grabbed one.
In the second match against Holy Family (0-4) Green threw for 248 yards and three scores and ran for two more. Schellpeper had two more interceptions to lead an Eastern defense that allowed only 85 total yards in a 35-0 win. The Eagles were up 16-0 at half and scored in every period.
Eastern (4-0) will host Montclair State in Football on Tuesday.
