Women's Lacrosse Falls in Home Opener to Arcadia

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - Eastern Women's Lacrosse opened its 2026 season on Saturday morning at Olson Field against the Arcadia Knights. Junior Morgan Wallace recorded a hat trick and both Gracie Horton and Natalia Willoughby found the back of the cage, but the Eagles fell to the Knights by a final score of 18-5.

The Knights took control of the contest in the first half, outscoring the Eagles 13-1 in the first two quarters. Morgan Wallace scored the lone goal for the Eagles in the first quarter, cutting the Knights' lead to 3-1, before Arcadia scored 11 straight goals to go up 14-1 early in the third frame.

The Eagles' best frame of the day came in the third quarter. Eastern outscored the Knights, 4-2, with Wallace scoring both a man-up and man-down goal. Horton and Willoughby also scored their first goals of the season in the third quarter. Arcadia scored the final three goals of the contest in the fourth quarter to secure the 13-goal victory.

Wallace finished the day with three goals, one assist, and a pair of ground balls. Horton ended the game with a goal, an assist, and a team-high five draw controls. Willoughby also finished with a goal, assist, three draw controls, and a team-high four ground balls.

Eastern (0-1) will be back in action next Saturday against the University of Mount Saint Vincent. The opening draw control is set for 2:00 pm.
