Washington, D.C.— Eastern Unversity Men's Volleyball used a balanced attack to pull away to a three-set win at Gallaudet University. Kaodia Wokocha led the Eagles with 10 kills in the match.
Using five kills from Wokocha, the Eagles hit .259 in the opening set to claim a 25-20 win in the opening set. The Eagles built a big lead with Ian Leed at the service line.
Connor Tucholski had four kills in a 25-16 win in the second set. Eastern broke open the game with Trey Broussard at the service line. Eastern hit .310 in the second set. Ronan Landis had nine of his 20 assists in the second.
The host Bison (3-8) led in the third, but another service run with Broussard serving gave the Eagles a lead they would not relinquish. Gallaudet pulled to within a point, but the Eagles closed out the match after Broussard put them on the doorstep with a kill to go up 24-20. Landon Mattiace had a team-high three kills in the third.
The Eagles (7-8) open their league schedule at Hood College on Saturday.
