Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Stopped at Neumann

ASTON, Pa.— After starting the year with three losses, Eastern University Men's Soccer had clawed back to level with three wins and a tie over the past two weeks. Though the Eagles were under pressure for much of the match, they were one bad bounce away from keeping their unbeaten stretch alive at Neumann.

The host Knights (4-2-3) carried much of the play through the games opening and had a 7-2 edge in first-half shots. Playing in front of their Homecoming crowd, Neumann built pressure as the second half built. The deciding moment of the game came on a good run off the left side by Markus Beugre. The Neumann winger blasted a right-footed shot that looked to be straying wide before hitting off the hip of an Eastern defender and into the goal.

The Eagles put several balls in the box late in the game, but Neumann goalkeeper AJ Henry was up to the task to keep the clean sheet. Henry finished with five saves and Ty Bleiler had four for Eastern.

Neumann will join the MAC Commonwealth next year. The Knights also beat Eastern at Neumann last fall.

The Eagles (3-4-1) will host Arcadia on Wednesday afternoon.
