ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - In its non-conference finale on Thursday afternoon, Eastern Women's recorded its fifth win of the season with a 4-3 triumph over Rowan College of Gloucester County. The Eagles earned the doubles point and won three singles matches, one of which came by forfeit.
After the Eagles a win at No. 3 doubles by forfeit,
Trinity Gruber and
Anisah Smith earned their fifth win as a doubles duo with a 6-4 win over Emily Hamilton and Jenna Georgette.
Gruber and Smith also emerged victorious in their singles competitions. Gruber picked up her third win of the season with a 7-5 win over Hamilton. Smith increased her team-leading win total to six with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Giana DeBlock.
Eastern will conclude its regular season with a critical showdown against York on Sunday. The match is set to begin at 12 noon. With a win, the Eagles would clinch the No. 4 seed in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament.
