GLASSBORO, N.J. — On cool and rainy day,
Ian Hopkins led the way for a limited group of men competing for Eastern University Track and Field at the Oscar Moore Invitational at Rowan University.
Ian Hopkins qualified in first for the finals in the 110 High Hurdles with an outstanding 15.02 mark. The first year then broke his own program record with a 14.85 time. He is the first Eastern runner to break the 15 second barrier in the event. He is tied with Sam Etherson from DeSales for the top time in the MAC this year.
Jeric Lewis won the Triple Jump against a very limited field with a solid 13.55 meter effort. While that number is off his season-best 13.92 effort set at Widener, Lewis worked through tough conditions and found consistency with six legal efforts over 13 meters.
IN other action this week,
Donovan Skinner finished fourth in his first Decathlon with 4513 points at the TCNJ Multi. That is the top mark in the MAC this year and the third best mark in Eastern program history.
The Eagles have two more meets scheduled before MAC Championships. They are slated to compete at Hopkins this weekend before a final qualifying date at Elizabethtown on April 26.
