KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. - Eastern Baseball put on an offensive clinic on Wednesday night, dominating the Rosemont Ravens in a 22-3 at Heuser Park. The Eagles (7-14) scored three runs in the first two innings, before exploding for eight runs in the third and six in the seventh en route to their seventh win of the season. Additionally, Roy Corso and Landen Lewis combined to one hit the Ravens, recording eight strikeouts and allowing just two earned run.
The Eagles recorded 14 hits in the win along with 20 RBIs. Trent MacDougall finished with two hits, three runs scored, and a team-high four RBIs, while Justin DiCesare drove in three runs for the Eagles. Leyton Bamesberger, Robert Del Buono, Luke Meehan, and Luca Marinucci combined for six hits and eight RBIs.
Corso (1-0) pitched an effective 5.1 innings for the Eagles, allowing just one hit while striking out five on 85 pitches. Lewis was equally as efficient in relief, allowing just one unearned run with three strikeouts in the final 1.2 frames.
The Eagles wasted little time putting runs on the board. Matthew Gonglik brought the first run across on a RBI hit by pitch, Bamesberger plated the second on a bases-loaded walk, and DiCesare hit a sacrifice fly to center field to put the Eagles up 3-0 heading into the second inning.
Eastern added three more runs in the second inning, courtesy of a MacDougall RBI single and a Del Buono RBI triple, before exploding for eight runs in the third. MacDougall, Meehan, and DiCesare each hit RBI doubles, while Bamesberger and Eastern first-year catcher JJ Matos plated a pair of runs on RBI singles to increase the Eagles' lead to 14-1.
DiCesare hit his third RBI of the day on an RBI groundout in the fifth, and Brock Langlotz followed with an RBI fielders choice to make it 16-1 after five. Eastern put the game away in the seventh on an RBI bases-loaded walk from David Sharp, a passed ball, a two-run single from Marinucci, an RBI single from Will Carroll, and a bases-loaded balk.
Eastern returns to conference play this weekend at Albright. The opener will be on Friday afternoon beginning at 3:30 pm.
