ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– Eastern University Field Hockey scored three times, but it was not enough as the visiting Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen scored four second half goals to pull away to a 7-3 win.

When CJ Summa put away a rebound of an Emma Kircher shot on a penalty corner with six minutes to play in the first quarter the Eagles closed the gap to a single goal. The visitors scored the first two goals on a penalty corner and a penalty stroke.

LVC scored early in the second for a 3-1 lead before the Eagles had several chances to close the gap again in the final minute of the half. On another penalty corner situation, Paige Brouse beat the LVC goalie with a low shot, but an LVC defender blocked the ball on the line with her body. Summa, who has scored in each of the Eagles' first three games, took the penalty stroke. Her shot hit the spot where the post and the crossbar meet and somehow stayed out of the goal.

With four minutes left, Summa put away her fifth of the year on a strong drive through traffic. Grace Barnett played the insert and earned the assist. Kacie Agnew powered home a rebound attempt in the 59th minute for her first goal of the year.

With the three goals today, the Eagles have eight through three games. The Eagles will host Neumann University on Sept. 11.
