DALLAS, Pa.– Eastern University Men's Volleyball closed the season with a win and a loss in a pair of matches at Misericordia University. The Eagles (11-17, 2-6) dropped a three-set decision to the host Cougars, and beat Bard College (9-18) in three sets in the finale.
In the second match,
Lucas Adam banged out a career-best 18 kills and
Max Bagileo hit .857 with 12 kills to lead an Eastern attack that hit .402 in the win. Adam had eight kills on 13 swings to lead the Eagles to a 25-19 win in the opening set. Early in the set, Adam became the second Eastern player to register 500 kills.
Bard scored the first point of the second set, but Adam earned the sideout with a kill and served for four more points to put the Eagles up for good in the frame. The Eagles were successful on 71 percent of their sideout chances and won the second set 25-14.
The Eagles passed even better in the third set. They hit .462 on the way to a 25-16 win to close the year. Bard only scored three points on serve.
Chris Miller dished out 32 assists and the Eagles did not have a single receiving error.
Connor Tucholski had eight digs and three blocks.
Misericordia (21-10, 7-1) came into the match having secured the second seed in the upcoming MAC Men's Volleyball Championships. The Cougars hit .322 as a team and controlled the action for the opening two sets. The Eagles were within a point late in the third, but the Cougars scored three of the final four points to earn the win.
Jarred Barch had five kills and hit .400 to lead the Eagles on offense.
