ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - In its final match of the 2023-2024 season on Saturday, Eastern Men's Tennis dropped a competitive 5-4 decision to the MAC Commonwealth leading Stevenson Mustangs. The Eagles took match at doubles and three matches at singles.
In singles play,
Jeffrey Day concluded a strong sophomore season with his eighth win at No. 2 singles, beating Simeon Smith 7-5, 6-4.
Ethan Goonewardene won his fifth match of the season at No. 5 singles over Dominic Duncan, while
Shane Witzer capped off a strong second half with an 8-5 win over Delano Sagne Mengo.
At doubles, Goonewardene and
Jacob Craig picked up their fifth win at No. 2 doubles with a 8-4 win over Duncan and Sagne Mengo.
Eastern ends its season with a 4-10 and a 2-4 mark in conference play.
