LANCASTER, Pa. - Commissioner Jessica Huntley and the Atlantic East Conference are proud to announce Eastern University will be joining the conference as an associate member in Women's Flag Football, for the spring of 2025.
"We have put an emphasis on being at the start of an incredible growing sport and are excited to be joined by Eastern University," said Huntley. "Eastern is moving quickly to join our first full year of varsity flag football."
Eastern announced the addition of Women's Flag Football back in November. The Eagles will join Centenary, Immaculata, Marymount, and Neumann. The Eagles are immediately eligible for all women's flag football conference recognition.
"We are thrilled to join the schools in The Atlantic East on the leading edge of this trend." Eastern Athletic Director Eric McNelley said. "We have a rich history in both conference and non-conference athletic competition with Atlantic East schools. We look forward to great competition in this emerging sport."
All conference schools will compete throughout the season with a full schedule to be determined. There will be a tournament to determine a conference champion in April of 2025.
