Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Stopped at Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.– In rainy and wet conditions, Eastern University Men's Lacrosse struggled to find offensive execution in a 12-5 loss at Ursinus College. The host Bears (3-2) scored the first seven goals of the game and outscored the Eagles in all four quarters.

Benjamin Souder won 10-of-16 faceoffs, but the Eagles had 25 turnovers and put only 13 of their 38 shots on goal.  The host Bears led 3-0 after one quarter and found a run of four goals in the first five and a half minutes of the second quarter.

The Eagles got a little spark as Nick Litzenberger and Avery Porter scored second quarter goals.

The Eagles started the second half down a player, but a saver from Ethan Myers helped the Eagles to survive the man-down situation. Christopher Fanelli scored from Bennan Kaut to pull the Eagles to within four goals. Myers finished with ten saves.

The Eagles had two possessions to try to close the gap further, but a pair of turnovers left the Eagles down four. The Bears closed the third with two goals.

The Eagles got man-up goals in the fourth quarter from Kaut and Nicholas Fanelli, but the Bears had the big lead and scored three of their own goals for the final margin.

Eastern is at Arcadia on Saturday.
