ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - On Tuesday, Eastern's Super Smash Brothers team dropped its season opener to Wilkes, 2-0, to begin its 2024 season.
Daniel Ruley played an excellent match as Byleth, but the Eagles were unable to capitalize on their opportunities and ultimately fell victim to some key mistakes.
Ruley was a standout for the Eagles. He showcased his exceptional skill and understanding of the character throughout the contest. Using Byleth's range and projectiles, Ruley was able to record eight stocks across both games.
"Both games in the series were incredibly close, with the outcome hanging in the balance until the final moments," Eastern Head Coach Joshua Franklin said. "The team's ability to compete at such a high level in their first match bodes well for the future, as they look to learn from their experiences and improve their performance.
Eastern will be back in action this Tuesday against Arcadia.
